Pitching, Hitting, Left Slapping Camps



 

DATE: Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009
CAMP STAFF: Kent State University coaching staff, former and current team members.
CAMP DIRECTORS: Kent State Head coach Karen Linder, Assistant coaches, Kim Burke & Amy Densevich. 
 
LOCATION: The Kent State Field House located on Summit Street beside Dix Stadium.
COST: $45 for one camp session.  $80 for two camp sessions.
 


 

PITCHING CAMP FOR GIRLS IN GRADES 3-12
 
Beginning
For pitchers who are just learning how to pitch and/or need work on basic fastball mechanics and control and have less than one year game experience.
    TIME:  11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

 		 Intermediate
For pitchers who need work on their fastball mechanics and control and who want to learn and work on the change-up.
TIME: 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
$45

 		 Advanced
For pitchers who have control of fastball/change-up. This clinic will allow you the choice of learning or bettering the screw, curve, rise and/or drop.
TIME: 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.

Advanced Pitching AND Hitting/Power Hitting Camps
 
TIMES: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; 1:15 – 2:45 p.m.
$80

 

HITTING/POWER HITTING CAMP
FOR GIRLS IN GRADES  5-12

INSTRUCTION
Stresses hitting fundamentals and will focus on drills to help increase power.

TIME:  11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

 LEFTY SLAP HITTING CAMP
FOR GIRLS IN GRADES  5-12

INSTRUCTION
Stresses slapping mechanics from the left side. 

TIME:  1:15 – 2:30 p.m.

FOR GIRLS IN GRADES  5-12

PLEASE NOTE: Pitchers must bring a ball, a glove, and a person to catch.  Hitters should bring a bat if possible, and catchers should bring a glove and catching gear if possible.  Everyone should bring a clean pair of tennis shoes to wear in the Field House.
 
 
Refunds
Your camp fee, less a $10.00 non-refundable administrative fee, will be refunded with out questions if you cancel before 7days prior to camp.  At any time after that date, a refund less the $10.00 administrative fee will be made for medical reasons only and must be accompanied by a signed medical statement from your physicians.  If no request is made before camp begins, NO refund will be given, including no-shows. 
 

INSURANCE: Kent State University has purchased insurance for each participant that will cover injury over and above the primary insurance coverage.  A first aid provider will be on duty.  Minor injuries will be treated at Robinson Memorial Hospital.   Each participant and all catchers must have a hold harmless form/ medical care form signed by a parent/ legal guardian in order to participate.  If you register early, one will e-mailed to you.  You may also get the forms off the KSU web page.  In cases of illness or injury, all but the $10 registration fee will be refunded.
